Waxing Questions
It can be a little uncomfortable at first especially if this is your first time waxing but our waxing experts will make sure to keep you as comfortable as possible. All treatments are very quick so it will be over and done with before you know it.
We recommend waiting at least 24-48 hours depending on how sensitive your skin is.
Avoid any lotions or body butters that are too thick as these can clog the opening to the follicle aiding ingrown hairs to develop. Always look for water-based lotions with Tea Tree or Aloe Vera as the main ingredients as these have natural antibiotic properties that will help keep the opening to the follicle clean.
Dead skin cells can accumulate which will prevent the new hairs from breaking through the surface of the skin. You need to ensure that you exfoliate at least once a week and not over exfoliate as this can irritate the skin, we recommend exfoliating 2-3 times per week with a gritty scrub rather than mitts or luffas as these can scratch the skin rather than successfully exfoliate away the dead skin cells.
We recommend at least 3-5 weeks, try not to leave your waxing any longer than 6 weeks in between as this can make your next wax more sensitive as this gives the roots time to grow back thicker and we ideally want to cause them as much damage as possible so that they grow back thinner after each extraction.

Waxing can help to prevent ingrown hairs acquired from shaving, but you do need to follow through with maintaining your own aftercare in order to prevent ingrown hairs from developing so make sure to exfoliate and moisturise! This is something that you must do in order to prevent ingrown hairs from developing.
